"Grateful for Expertise and Patience with the GLA:D Program"

About: Imagine Health Centres Macleod Trail South South Calgary PCN South Calgary PCN / Pain/GLAD Program

(as a service user),

In Fall 2024, my family doctor, referred me to the GLA:D Program facilitated online by Matt on behalf of the South Calgary Primary Care Network. After 18 months of completing the exercises twice a week on my own, I was reaching the threshold. I wanted to know if I should increase my hand weights or increase my reps. When I called, I was advised that I had been discharged from the program and needed a referral again to reach out to Matt. My doctor kindly wrote me a re-referral. Matt and I scheduled a telephone appointment. I came armed to the appointment with information on what levels, weights, and reps I was currently completing for each exercise. Matt really listened to me and reviewed each exercise with me. He suggested I first increase my reps and then increase my hand weights. There were also additional steps and exercises he was able to add for me which were not in the original material. I am very grateful to Matt for his expertise and patience.
